They came, they modeled....they kicked ass! Presenting the 2024 Graduating Class of Wonderfest Attendees. We were looking for a record turnout this year for the annual group shot and our fellow Wonderfesters did not disappoint. One hundred and fifty five lost souls turned up in altered states of consciousness to help celebrate the show's 34th event and it was a blast. Missed out or just looking to be a part of one of WF's most anticipated group events? Then join us next year when we'll be looking to try and set a new record that'll top the 200 mark. Hey Wonderfest, are you ready to get small this year? As in small scale micro-modeling? Well, we are, and we’re proud to announce AFM’s all-new Mummy Diorama Class! The Mummy Lives, and you could be the one to bring him to life! Small scale modeling requires specialized techniques and this comprehensive class will teach an impressive array of modeling challenges unlike any training seminar before it!
Heading up this innovative class is AFM’s very own Dave Prosser, an award-winning modeler with over 40 years of modeling excellence in creating life-like scale figures, vignettes, and dioramas. For this unique class, Mr. Prosser (AKA The Professor) has personally organized a timed out schedule that’ll maximize your micro skills throughout the day with the following approach and applications to build and paint a complete mini-model diorama!
Techniques covered will include:
• Working with Metallic Waxes to define metallic surfaces.
• Wet-on-wet painting techniques: mixing and blending colors
on the model.
• ”Painting” with pastel shade sticks.
• Using alcohol to create surface textures and weathering
• Plug n’ play lighting kit to create a flickering fire effect in a fire
pit custom-made just for this class.
Now, pair all of that along with Black Heart’s Mini Mummy Diorama and you have the perfect class for an awesome day to start your weekend at WonderFest 2024! AFM’s all-day “Model Boot Camp” will be held on Friday, May 31st; between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville, KY! If you’re familiar with AFM’s past “Modeling Boot Camps,” then you know how successful our programs are. Previous class attendees have achieved greater confidence in their skills and a growing number have even won awards-with their class-modeled efforts, and there’s no reason why you can’t either! Class tuition fee is only $310 per student, offered on a limited seating capacity, and it’s open to modelers of all skill levels. The class will be taught by AFM, all students will be supplied with a set of quality paints and brushes in addition to the event kit.

AFM BOOT CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY:
Each AFM Boot Camp class holds limited seating, and most of our classes sell out. For this reason, we request that you cancel at least thirty days before the scheduled class. This will allow us to offer your spot to another student. You may call us at [614] 882-2125 between the hours of [12:00 noon to 6:00pm] to cancel. You will receive a full refund if notice is given before the thirty-day deadline.
Please note, after the thirty-day cancellation notice has passed, we do not offer full refunds. However, you will receive a partial refund of $100.00 and the class supply package of paints, brushes and painting subject. If you fail to cancel and become a no-show the day of the class, all fees are forfeited.
