Heading up this epic Modern Horror class is none other than AFM’s Steve Riojas! Steve’s modeling expertise has graced the pages of Amazing Figure Modeler for years and now you can gain insight into his expertise first hand, with this unique, one-day “hands-on” clinic that’s held in a friendly and relaxed setting at the Country’s Premier GK Show, Wonderfest 2023! All students will receive Blackheart’s magnificent 1/4th-scale Pumpkinhead bust as well as a set of quality paints and brushes, all to keep and take home! Modelers need only to bring themselves as all other modeling supplies will be provided! This year’s hand-painting class is designed to allow modelers maximum exposure to the many techniques and different painting applications used in figure modeling. Producing translucent hues will be the main focus, but the class will also entail applying a glaze finish, washes, as well as detailed veining applications.
Class #2: Painting An Orkus!

STAY TUNED FOR 2024 CLASSES
Class #2: Modelers both far and wide, prepare for something completely different! For the first time ever at Wonderfest, AFM presents an oil painting class! The perimeters of this unique class will provide an introduction to oil painting figures that can be used as a stand-alone technique or as an enhancement to your current painting arsenal. Sound interesting? Then enlist now in AFM’s Model Boot Camp Class #2, a target specific painting clinic that presents an exciting modeling curriculum for Wonderfest 2023! Heading up this informative painting class is none other than AFM’s, Dave Prosser…. AKA “The Professor!” Dave’s modeling expertise has graced the pages of Amazing Figure Modeler for years and now you can gain insight into his expertise first hand, with this unique, one-day “hands on” clinic that’s held in a friendly and relaxed setting.
All students will receive an Orkus bust sculpted by Gabriel Garcia as well as a set of quality oil paints and brushes, all to keep and take home! Modelers need only to bring themselves as all other modeling supplies will be provided! The main focus of this exciting new class will be blending and glazing oil paints to create soft color transitions and transparent effects without using an airbrush, particularly on smaller scale projects. This class will also help you enhance your understanding of how oil colors work in relation to highlights, shading and blending.
As a special bonus available exclusively with this offer, all attendees for this year’s classes will receive two free digital downloads of Amazing Figure Modeler magazine for free!
